Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
What started out as three batches of cookies quickly became nine. Somehow I had read the recipe wrong and ended up with 120 plus cookies. I bagged them and stood in faith that God would sell them for us. Being the last day before the long weekend ahead was a concern. Well, not for long as one customer came in and bought all of them. Why do we limit what God can do?
One of my favorite quotes states that “Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme, will find perplexities vanish and a plain path before their feet.”
What’s perplexing you today? Does your future seem grim ? Place your concerns in the masters care and he will take care of you. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. Deut. 31:6 says:
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deut.
Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
The morning had started out hectic as a worker called in sick on the busiest day. As I got into the work I felt a little overwhelmed and overly anxious as I took note of the time. As I looked down the path to the shop, I saw her coming. She had always volunteered her time but we never needed her. But on this morning I was so happy to see her coming. She had come to drop of a package to her son that could have waited until he got home. As she turned to leave, she asked the million dollar question, do you need my help? I answered, “yes!”
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; I am so often reminded that God knows just what we need and when we need it most. If we would simply put our full trust and faith in him we have nothing to worry about. Trusting in God simply means that we may not be able to see the future but we know if we have surrendered into his loving care we can trust the unknown to an all-knowing God.
Dan. 3:17-18 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
The three Hebrew boys were thrown in the fiery furnace, Daniel was thrown into the lions den, Joseph was sold into slavery, John was boiled in oil and sent into exile, Lazarus was dead four days, and we can think of the an endless list of miracles throughout the Bible.
You may feel like you are in a fiery furnace and feel you’ll be consumed or even a lions den and about to be devoured, you may also feel alone and feel that their is no hope, do not lose sight of God. Do not lose hope. God has a plan, trust him fully with your life. Take your burdens to God in prayer, he is the burden bearer.
Pray more, talk less, watch God!
Ps. 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
It never ceases to amaze me that as God’s people we feel that we should never experience hard times. When faced with trials and adversity I sometimes become anxious and fearful. I begin questioning why I am experiencing such difficult times. Then I am reminded that we were never promised that we would live a life free from trials. As a matter of fact if the devil has come down to make war with the Remnant of God’s seed that sounds pretty intense, doesn’t it? War can be brutal, chaotic, and bloody. When difficulties arise God promises to be with us in the midst of our storms. Ps 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. He assures us through his words.
